Annemarie’s art brings your dreams to life. Inspiration comes to artists in many forms. For Professional Artist, Muralist and Faux Finisher Annemarie Johnson, inspiration flows from the dreams of her clients.

“I see myself as the hand that brings their visions to life,” says Annemarie, the owner of Trompe L’oeil Murals. “I use their inspiration to transform ordinary spaces into something extraordinary. For example, you can create an underwater illusion by combining glass floor tiles, pebble stone and vibrant images of sea life. Or, introduce a waterfall to an entrance that will surprise guests as they enter your home."

Born in Baden, Austria in 1969 to Slovenian parents, Annemarie came to Canada at a very early age, eventually settling in Nova Scotia. She began her career as a Professional Artist in 2000. Since then, she has studied at St. Francis Xavier University and the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. Annemarie also completed classes from the School of Italian Plasters in Dallas, TX. Living in Halifax with her husband and five children, she explores her clients’ dreams each day in her studio.

“It is good to dream, and imagine, beyond standing on ground,” says Annemarie.
